Francis Barraza was the Campaign Manager for former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, a candidate for Governor of California. In this role, she ran the day to day operations of the highly-watched recall campaign, and oversaw the work of 40+ individuals and their outreach to millions of voters across the state.  Previously, she served as the Assistant Chief of Staff for the Mayor’s Office where she spearheaded initiatives on homelessness, public safety, and covid response efforts, among others. Beginning as the Appointments Secretary for the Mayor, Barraza was consistently promoted due to her ability to create productive coalitions and campaigns that resulted in significant policy wins for the Mayor.

Ms. Barraza has worked in politics and government for 15 years and has had a variety of leadership roles including serving as the Executive Director of the Republican Party of San Diego County, State Director of Hispanic Initiatives for the Republican National Committee, and the Campaign Manager for Mayor Faulconer’s successful reelection campaign. Complementing her professional leadership positions, she’s also served on a variety of civic and community boards including the San Diego Republican Lawyers Association, One San Diego, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Young Leaders and the Latino Leadership & Policy Forum.

Regarded for her expertise in strategy and campaigns, Ms. Barraza is also a respected mentor of young professionals and continues to leverage her professional and personal resources to curate future political and advocacy leaders. Ms. Barraza is a native San Diegan and received her law degree from the University of California Davis School of Law and her B.A. in political science from UC Irvine.
